Terrified Ramblings

Terrified Ramblings

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

It must be hard for someone who is set in their ways to have to change.

"

                                   Terrified Ramblings

You came so suddenly,

You completely blindsided me,

Leaving me confused and unsure,

Of a reality I believed was written in stone,

A person who has everything in its place ,

Is suddenly overcome by the clutter of your arrival.

I could ignore you,

But you are already etched into my memory,

And I am so scared ,

Of feeling an emotion that has no name or distinction,

I am so angry at you,

For scaling my walls ,

They were up for a reason.

I am terrified because you don't fit,

And yet you do,

I don't accept what you offer,

I don't accept a relationship that is undefined ,

My heart pounds a punishing rhythm,

Merging with the pace set by yours.

Friend or foe ,lover or friend ,

I need to place you in a niche ,

Neatly arranged and understood,

But you refuse to fit,

So I am confused,

Belong where I put you ,

Because this is the only way my mind can deal with you.

Aha; feeling which is undefined after reading it for several times.... your words are too strong and organised that they don require any review from me... this is awesome ... simply awesome.. what I liked most is the strength of your version, the force it has...too gooood.

If nothing changes nothing changes yet we resist because it makes us vulnerable and frightened. The known is an entity we understand so we find comfort in it. I understand, it is hard to move forward and embrace change that just might make our lives better. We don't know though and that's the conundrum we all face.

And all change is not necessarily good, it is a crap shoot and that is scary.

I personally like this the best of everything of yours I have ever read. It is a great piece, that perfectly expresses the angst of someone who thought something was one way, and now it appears as if it is another.

when we are young and impulsive and naive, we just love no matter what. but the more we experience pain, the more careful we become...we make our lives into a neatly molded routine...and we just really want to stay away from complications.

i really like the analogy you placed before us here.

such excellent poetry.

Change is natural and often good. Sudden change however, can and often is, terrifying.

Nicely written.

You express what I call the pigeon hole effect. I put you where you fit and if you don't fit, I do a little manipulating until you do. I have never had it succeed. lol ;)
