The game of patience

The game of patience

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

about knowing you belong with someone and waiting for them to figure it out.

"

                The game of patience

Every lifetime brands me as yours
Even as you refuse to face the truth,
Scared of the notion that something could be so permanent,
In a world that boasts of its irrelevance,
How can you not remember ?

When the memories of you are seared into my mind?

As clear as day, as right as rain.
I know your every breath as if it were my own,
I feel your every heartbeat pounding in my chest,
We do a dance of give and take and i fear,
When the music echoes its last chord,
I may not have anything left to  give.

I have loved you through time and space,
Through rhythmless rhyme,
But if you look at me and see just a friend,
Perhaps the error is mine,
For flinging the doors to my heart open,
Because I keep remembering a phantom memory.

Expecting you to feel what I feel,
And being broken into soo many shards,
When you simply feel what you feel,
I am your friend and your love for me is epic,
But you just  dont see me that way ....until you do,
Then you'll begin writing sonnets and odes to my name.

Because it is impossible,
That you will be blinded by your ignorance forever,
One day as always you will recognize my face,
As the one  always just beneath your conciousness,
And as sad as it sounds I will be here waiting,
Ever patient never doubtful.

I could feel the longing within your words. I could envision someone speaking to another who just wouldn't look at them. Well done.

Thank you for your always kind words:)
I like the contemplation on love and fate and the questions that the universe has in store to answer if the two are meant for each other or not but from your side you know for a certainty the answer. He belongs to you and in your world...Even every breath...An excellent write...:)............

I understand...You are welcome...:).................
Is this about that eerie feeling of meeting the same soul in different guises, a love predestined yet starcrossed, like a loop in time across lifetimes and centuries, etc.? When you meet a person yet instantly know/feel/sense you fully know them already? It works on that level, and the terrestrial level of loving and having infinite patience for one you are more than fond of.
A touching, profound poem.

Such a romantically sad poem about waiting for the one you love to love you in the same way.

How does my heart yearn to be captured by your love so pure. Blindness is a fools eye, shedding no light on who you really are.
