Take me away.

Take me away.

A Poem by Matt
"

a poem i wrote after watching requiem for a dream

"
Take me away.
Into a dream where I am free.
Free of addiction and all these deeds.

Take me away...
From home...
From the people i don't know anymore..

Take me away.
From these addictions.
from these everlasting afflictions.

Take me away.
From the places i know.
And the people i can't seem to forget.

Take me away.
To a better place.
Where the grass is more green
Where the sun always shines and my love is at my side.

Take me away.
From all the broken hopes.
Hopes that kill.

Take me away.
I can't sit still.
This place is such a frightening thrill.

Take me away from all this.
My heart begins to pound.
My body jerks at every sound.
My feet ripping off the ground.

Take me away.
Before this becomes to much.
Before i discover one more unhealthy crutch.
Take me away.

I just want to go home.
"Home is where the heart is,
Too bad everyone's heart doesn't beat the same."
Will you take me away?

Author's Note

Matt
the quote is from green days Jesus of suburbia.
I wrote this after watching a movie.
It made me really think.
This poem is not really about me. I think its more describing the emotions we feel as a whole. the whole being the young adults of society that dont know what to do or how to live anymore.
