Peaceful Goodbye

Peaceful Goodbye

A Poem by Victoria

She's in pain
He's doing just fine
She doesn't want to live
He has something to give
She cries herself to sleep at night
He pictures her smile to strengthen his fight
She didn't think she could ever be loved
He saw her as his Heaven sent dove
All she wanted was to feel like she belonged
All he wanted was her but he waited too long
She goes on and pulls that trigger
His heart is punctured by her dagger
She was dressed in a gown, no longer full of lies
He looked his best, dressed in suit and tie
Today she was laid to rest for the rest of her life
Today he began the journey of a long, tearful goodbye
She may be in a peaceful stance
But he'll never even have a chance
Oh how she wished she could've been his
Oh how he wishes he could have stopped all this
