The Day That Changed the Nation

The Day That Changed the Nation

A Poem by Victoria

Two tall proud buildings, stood above the world…

It was a cloudless blue day…

One that would end in tragedy…

It would be a day that changed the nation…

Two tall proud buildings, stood above the world…

Seeming untouchable, until they were gone…

Screams pierced that cloudless day…

Innocent human life gone…

Children left without fathers and mothers…

It would be a day that changed the nation…

Two proud buildings, stood above the world…

Plumes of smoke filled the air…

Ashes fell from above, as those mourned below…

We call the day that changed the nation 9/11…

How I remember that day so well, the painful agony of it all, the world standing still. Your words so beautifully keep sacred every life that was taken that day. The buildings could rise again, but the lives lost are only held in these memories and reflections.
