Sharia

Sharia

A Poem by Victor Gamma
"

Free verse, subjective but understandable with work - I believe It is about regret, especially involving old friends and dashed dreams

Sharia

Keen sight, wisdom and courage took from me a too-easy load.
I never hated you for that
I told you again and again,
But I lied.
I wanted everything, but could give you nothing
Though I had it all.
We were but simple bums, tramps
One step from the street
My brain frowned when I could not see you,
Telling me to get lost,
Scowling at me, weeping by yourself.
You tramp!
My cranium devoid of electric current
bitterness caused it - what might have been.
Oh that I could forget everything
without even trying.
Sharia, ugly strumpet
May you be erased like heresy
We are riddled with doubt, even Hell doesn't want us
My eyes burst open
A void appears before my them that swims
Like so many verdant piranha
 where are you?
I can and will do nothing for you now
After a year with you
All I wanted was a mountain of solitude

And Many Bitter Tears
