Divan

Divan

A Poem by Vicente Milchorena

The end of a civilization comes,

A predictable yet horrible circumstance

Where we find ourselves alone again

Nowhere to run, smaller kingdoms fail

Into darkness we fall, nomads to ride

I find no longer a divan to lax

Stress builds, tears drop, friendships last

But nothing the same, ever again

A very insightful and poignant poem. During these times, the fall of civilizations is a question never far from our minds, and it was really well expressed here. Well done!

Seems like this was written for our current pandemic situation, but I see that it was actually written four years ago. You saw it coming!
