Red Absinthe

Red Absinthe

A Poem by viciousvixin
"

What blood is like

"

ache fills my veins, like a once raging river, gone arid like a bone
craving for just a drop of life
your scent drifting smoke, rising and twisting
burning like sugar on a spoon, begging the liquid under
dropping you in, methodically drinking deep
savoring every quenching drop
sating my rivers

"like a once raging river, gone arid like a bone"
This line speaks the truth about all paths that tempt away from the moment of suffering.
The imagery is eloquent. I get that "savoring every quenching drop" is more ORDEAL than ECSTASY.
Thank you for writing this.
