The Thaw

The Thaw

A Poem by rowanfaet

Isn't it odd.
When normally your vocal chords would freeze like a lake in the middle of winter.
And you could not utter a single sound.
But you find that one person.
And they thaw.
And you speak.
And you continue speaking.
Getting out all the things you've left unsaid for so long.
And it's just so refreshing and when you're done you're afraid you've said to much.
But when you look over they're just smiling.
And you don't care.
You don't care if they took in a single word of what you just said.
Because you were able to say it.
And they continued smiling.

How odd is it.
That someone can thaw what was once perpetually frozen.

"And they continue smiling." It makes you wonder what's going through their mind. Is it 'Ill get you for that' or is more like 'you finally got that out didn't you.

The release of feelings is a good thing if its been jumbled up inside. Getting it out is like doing your soul some good. :)
