Lost Hope

Lost Hope

A Poem by Vanessa P

What’s left of me then?

When my heart’s sunken deep

But the tears won’t fall

Not even when I laid my head

To the comforts of my hands

With not even God’s embrace

Can bring comfort

To my already defeated mind

Thoughts kept shallow

Inner spirit’s birth hallow

Enslaved by the notion

That perhaps I’m but a mere consolation

To any being that dared pay attention

To the fake laughters and smiles

My end will come near

Soon enough I fear

And to die feeling this way

Is a travesty

But this is my reality

Will you then dare change my mind?

Will you try to save me?

Will you be the one to set me free?

Even when you know its too late

To change my true fate

Well...

This character driven piece is so sad. It so well portray's the depth of dispair we can slip to. Yet there is a note of will you save me...in it for hope.

nice
