Tia

Tia

A Poem by Vic Frederick

Helpless and innocent she came to me

With blessings from my own creator

And I had known of nothing greater

Than how she made me feel

In dreams I have now long forgotten
She and I would smile and dance
And though I never had the chance
My memory makes it real

Entrusted was her life to mine
So out of love and obligation
I allowed the operation
Leading to her wrongful death

The fault was mine and mine alone
And now her name is rarely spoken
Cherished by my heart left broken
Waiting for my final breath
