The Home In Nature (L'œuvre de Nature IV)A Poem by Nate E. Flake (Cösmic Wönder)...just the fourth poem in the collection. Here in the flowing, deep green plains I lay. I having the slightest responsibility. Carefree as the spring air. Open minded, I aim to be. Nature on my side, Shall society be against me. Reluctant, I may seem, but truly I am not, To enter in such a world of hatred, as brutality leaks from the bosom of everfailing human society. Whilst danger continue to suck the pride out of its encounters. Whilst danger cease. We shan't take force, but bear the brunt of humility.
Wisping flow of the native lake, my thoughts run with it, wild as the fowls that soar through this land.
I look so, yonder the hills, at the azure sky, deep rose brimmed horizons. What lies ahead of us, I think. Often so, I gaze amongst the stars, glistening about, stars that enlighten us, and enlist well being amidst our hearts.
It is amongst the trailing arbutus, that I escape monotony. Free thoughts shift my mind, new wonders that await us. For it is nature that comforts me. © 2010 Nate E. Flake (Cösmic Wönder) |
