Dear Mabel

Dear Mabel

A Poem by Rachel Wright
"

a poem of love, loss and death.

"

M
abel Lester left her first love
As the town had brimmed with snow
Both had become cold and ruthless
Ever since she let him go
Leo Lester came back home

Ill in body, mind and spirit
Soulless scavenge like a crow

Dragging rope behind him, slowly
Even as she begged, "No, please,"
All it took was one short hour 'till
Dear Mabel ceased to be
