Where I'm FromA Poem by veracityMy take on how humans should identify themselves prior to forming prejudices and loyalties to specific interest groups.Where I’m From I am from the burning of the sun from the endless tears of the sky. I am from the bacteria under nails, (Miniscule, omnipresent, readily adaptable.) I am from the first heterotrophs, the consumer, who’s wasteful habits abuse and drain nature. I’m from man and woman, from Adam and Eve. I’m from the children of Africa, from humanity’s cradle. I’m from the zealots of the past, with holy frenzy, binding man in brotherhood. I’m from Artemis’ and Osiris’ grace, Offspring of Zeus and purest judgement. From the conflict of the past killing countless, the exchange of eyes leaves many blind. Within my head, a thought. Flowing through my veins, an ocean of cells, all with generic DNA. I am from the same-- correlating with the world-- a single leaf of the tree of humanity-- © 2015 veracityAuthor's Note
