Story of a Princess

Story of a Princess

A Poem by venomchic15

Just a random poem I wrote..

"

Along time ago in a faraway place

Lived a horrible princess who didn’t have grace.

She mocked the entire village,

She did everything but pillage.

Throughout the land man nor lad,

Desired to wed a girl with manners so bad.

For years the king tried to find

A man to whom his daughter could bind.

When the king had finally given up hope

A handsome young prince wished to elope

With this princess who had such a poor disposition

But the prince would wed on only one condition.

The prince wished to teach the young lass how to act

He planned to change her completely and that’s a fact.

He wanted to show her the way a princess should be

If he could have three days, he knew he could succeed.

The king agreed thoroughly and without uncertainty

“Anyone who does that is a great choice to succeed me.”

He thought with a grin on his face.

“Please go and teach my daughter some grace!”

The rude little princess was in disgust

She liked the way she was, she shouldn’t adjust.

But she respected her father, so she would try

And maybe she would get a prince out of this lie.

For three days the prince and princess stayed locked in a tower

He taught her everything he knew, and after three days she was in his power.

She was the perfect model for how a princess should be.

She knew how to count to one million and three.

She followed the orders he gave her without a fuss.

She did everything she knew she must.

She folded her napkin on her lap.

She never refused an afternoon nap.

The kingdom wondered how he had done it,

They puzzled at why the princess didn't shun it.

The prince assured the crowd that he would explain

He promised the story would entertain.

When the crowd had quieted down

And the prince had gotten his crown,

The prince told them the secret to how he had tamed

The awful princess who was now ashamed.

“Love,” the prince said.

“I just promised to love her until we were dead.

She’s never known what love is or how it feels

And sometimes that’s all we need to heal.”

And so our story ends with yet another

“They lived happily ever after”
