I've watched the cycling gears of greed steer us into this downfall
It is a sovereign
A trinket of beneficial faith
Its nothing more than a prayer
And it remains unsafe
Theres brown eyes have witnessed its soulless allure
A witness that it has disguised its carnal behavior lying in the embrace of blind offerings
It strides without hesitance
But remains unsure
This entity
A screaming plague you will soon have to face
Burns like a star in a beautiful rage
It teases its victim
This monster with a will all its own
Devoids us of humility
Feeds us with this cankerous growth for days at a time
And there's no turning away
The weak and devout are both taken by this blistering sin
Suit of doubt warring with a conscious and a desire
It calls out a promise only to wield
And we tell ourselves that it will pay off in the end
Before this machine gives way
To devour reason and life
This spirited bond that glances on the brink of an apocolypse
Consumes until there's nothing left and shadows the bystanders.
