Practical and Narrow

Practical and Narrow

A Poem by Julius Whitfield

vivisect the bare emulation

malleable monger of execration

horse-faced, shapeless petty entity

bisect your insipid meandering

and hide from your intolerance

cautious to your own abhorrence

a subterfuge of dissonance

swallows your incongruent mind

you're still practical and narrow

but this is something you can't deny

it wont reflect your despairs

in your privacy you cower from the exile

blood boils and bodies sprayed

explosions echo and innocence is dust

exactly who are you to exclaim?

point your accusing finger

fill the dank airs with shame

you claim to be godless

but we both know you're fearful of the judgement of death
