The Apparent Struggle

The Apparent Struggle

A Poem by Julius Whitfield

Sweet mother of pearl etches an extended smile on the face of the victim

Did this make any sense?

Was the world bred to produce such idiocies?

Did the due cause come from such absurdity through such feelings?

Remember that as you weep for hunters as many die everyday

Many who suffer raining skies of disease

many who can't gorge as you have

and the same die while you indulge

Love and sorrow

They war for some control

But they are as paltry and insignificant

As the parasites feeding on the dead

However, we don't know it

Only perpetual eyes can recognize this

And I haven't found one person who has those eyes
