The Rose of ThornsA Poem by GypsyThorns have roses as life has its' ups and downs :)Thorns grow glorious In my garden of love They reveal their beauty On scarlet days Shed darkness and shine A soft glowing petal 'Neath the twisted thistle Lay buds of life To empower the soul Strengthen the weak And embrace the lost The pain of rebirth Is found in these thorns For many are the scratches We shall endure For a rose without thorns Is not a rose For it is in the suffering That beauty lives In the hearts of those Who love the garden Where thorns grow strong And capture the soul With pain mere mortals Will never see Real life is embraced In the beauty of truth For without such walks Through storm filled days The rose would wither And surely die For a rose is a rose That has lived as a thorn By Gypsy Copyrighted April 2001 © 2014 GypsyAuthor's Note
