TapestryA Poem by GypsyReflections on life - memories
The days of winter solstice and blustery chill The brisk and bitter cold ravaged days We walk down the icy white roads Slithered and slick by winters’ embrace Sitting soothed and consoled Near a warm, flickering fire In this cozy, dimly lit room Fused with aromas of sweet mulled spice And the scent of fresh feathered evergreen Awakened by these reflective moments We are transported back in time Blessed by a sweet and tender nostalgia So unequivocally unique and sublimely divine Like thread weaves through the eye of a needle These wondrous moments, hours and days Become the threads of our illustrious tapestry The canvas of our incomparable lives This scintillating tapestry comes alive We reflect, we weep, we laugh, and we smile And we recall with joy and somber melancholy The unfolding days of winter’s past Some were sewn with pale gray thread Some were sewn vibrant yellow, orange and blue These transforming colors defined us And danced alongside us On both the dark and lighted path We floated along to this captivating tune Unrivaled and unknown As our tapestry fibers and shifting hues Became reminiscent and unique to us alone Private memories that are sparkling clear As sun christened crystal prism, glistens Winters’ past gleam a special sheen Like snow falling softly without a sound For us tonight - this enchanted night We treasure this shimmering melancholy Hold close to our hearts, as we honor and cherish All these brilliant, breathtaking moments Delicately season our vivid memories They become the living threads Of our intricately woven lives Remember only what is blessed and bright Make your tapestry your light In the cold winter solstice of this blustery night By Gypsy revised 5-12-11 © 2011 GypsyAuthor's Note
