TarnishedA Poem by GypsyTarnished Bound by tradition Held captive by desire We wander endlessly In search of meaning Atone for the past We collect old wounds Banish our sins And polish our spirits As broken beings We continue on Cynical and embittered Lost and alone Plagued and bewitched Misplaced and void With our hollow hearts We beseech and we bleed We search for completeness In the hearts of others In the indulgence of leisure And excess of possessions As tarnished beings Tortured and fragmented We are tainted and forsaken Longing for completeness With a counterfeit happiness We feign our existence Deficient and deplete Of life genuinely defined Continue to examine And seek with all earnest Our own undeniable Emblem of truth Always be true Amidst this troubled world Abundant and flourishing With tarnished souls By - Gypsy cc 04/08/2007 © 2014 GypsyFeatured Review
