When we knew love

When we knew love

A Poem by Veil

If ever you were to slowly fade
or life's cruelty take you from where you still are
at this moment by my side
Too severe a loss that I
can't even manage to understand
the definition of that despair
There would be no place for me to exist
And no way for me to belong
There is no other solution.
Only you, or forever inconsolable only me.
Never to forgive
How can forgiveness begin when the pain sharpens
instead of lessening every day that is survived.
The only thing they must not do.

You are with me and I am with you.
Still where we are okay.
And since this will not always be.
Please allow the words written here to not be taken away.
So over and over I could pretend that I was writing them
for the very first time.
so that you would always be beside me.
There you and I would stay.
Where your love restored my sanity and innocence
I took back the childhood dreams I had given up
and found they really did come true
So how can I accept counting down to the day
when you're taken from me.
When all that you were gets erased from existence
I know I won't have enough left of me.
