Footprints in the SnowA Poem by Salem FitzgeraldSo this is a song I wrote, I thought I'd just post the lyrics.
we all knew we'd never be good enough,
but that didn't stop us from trying. you have your conquests and i have mine I never said I was the forever kind. year after year we find ourselves here deathly afraid of we might miss and as the calendar carries on, we stand still in this.
and i don't know, know, know if our love will bloom and grow but our footprints in this snow seem to always lead to each other.
you and i are like a firecracker in the winter laid on a foundation of a practical joke it don't make any sense at all, but never the less, still fun to watch go up in smoke
we are the children getting punished but never learning we are the soapbox thieves we are the laughing in the corner at a funeral for our dignity
and i don't know, know, know if our love will bloom and grow but our footprints in this snow seem to always lead to each other
to each other... to each other... to each other.
