Stains of a Robin

Stains of a Robin

A Poem by Veerle Koops
"

How you leave someone who is dark at heart.

"

Stains of a Robin

I saw him in the storm

I met stares of blood-black red

Fresh from the grave of faith

Where his thoughts had bled

I slept inside his eyes

And curled my heart around his pupils

With tears of red blood dried in dark

We stared a thousand years together

Until a tear fell from his eye

It stained me like a robin’s feather

And I moved away so shy

Followed by his soaring stares

Hidden in the deep black weather
