Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Victoria
"

goodbye's are never fun and highly dangerous. Sorry it has no rhyme or reason. Just thoughts as someone passes away.

"
Today we said goodbye.
Saw you as you never were.
groomed and proper.
quiet and peaceful.

Listened to things you never did.
Padre went on and on about
Thanksgiving
Christmas
Birthdays
New Years.
As if he knew you.
As if he knew anything.
Well, how could he know that you never left your apartment?
How could he know that to see you we had to find you?
How could he know that he was lying to us?
How could he know that you never did any of that?
How would he know?

I'm glad you're gone.
Not because I didn't love you,
but because I do.

You aren't suffering
in a mess of your own making.

You aren't hurting
inside or anyone.

You know, when someone passes
Everyone says they've gone to a better place.
To heaven.
But how do they know for sure?

Wherever you are.
I hope you're safe.
