Tell Me

Tell Me

A Poem by Victoria
"

not about a boy. although it sounds as if it is.

"
I've fallen in love with
hate.
lies.

I don't remember the
truth.
love

that I gave to you and you gave to me.

Where have our lives taken us?
Why, when we were so close, have we grown apart?

I'd come home to you
and take a deep breath
inhale your love and exhale mine.

Forever in my arms you said I'd remain.
But there comes a time when arms aren't enough.
Breathing isn't enough,
and you have me coughing on what you've become.
Your poison quickens my rapture
Drains me of a miracle, our miracle.

We had something that you rarely find today.
Something everyone would envy.
And here it is in the palms of our dreams
melting through our fingers
and raining on our parade.

Tell me.
How am I supposed to let you go if I don't know how to want anything else?
