WarmthA Poem by VictoriaSturdy legs against
a blue metal rail. familiar broken bricks. Wary breeze filters through the thoughts I fantasize as I stare past the horizons edge. A weary passerby avoids my eyes not that I'm looking. Nothing to hide. Spring leather flapping against my sides in the sudden burst of sea air. Invisible fingers in my hair. I think of her. Her eyes. Her hands. The way she turned away and bit her lip when I told her I loved her. The way she feels in my arms. The way she buries her head in my chest. The way she sighs. The way she squeezes my hand. The way she closes her eyes when she kisses me. The way she kisses the tip of my nose. The way she wraps her knees around one of my legs and holds me with both arms tight around my waist whispering, "Please. Don't let me go." I come back to the rail. Bow my head. Salute the wind a fond farewell. To my lady love who I can imagine is anxiously awaiting me. © 2011 VictoriaAuthor's Note
