Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Vanessa Davy

She sees herself the way everyone else does...

The same ol' girl without a cause.

Driven to live with this burden taunting.

With the reflection of her past haunting.

Is there no end in sight?

Will she for all of time have to fight?

To be the best or will she fail this test...

Just to prove herself to all the rest?

Obstacles faced...

Accomplishments erased.

Trying to do good but she's rushed with feelings of disgrace.

Is there no place in this place?

Fighting for a chance to be redeemed.

She soon discovers nothing will be what it seemed.

Travisty will soon settle in...

That's where the heartache will begin.

Set aside blistered...

She will speak no words.

Its not the fear that keeps her silent.

Its the constant judgement.

The indebtedness will never go away.

Therefore guilt, leeriness and solitude will remain.

The days go by and the nights never end.

Plotting ways to make it amend.

To be acquitted...

And to have her progress be deliberated.

So when every morning she sees her reflection,

She doesn't have to feel alone in her Eden.

Until then...

She sees herself the way everyone esle does...

The same ol' girl without a cause.
