Unseen RoutineA Poem by KittenYou look at me, I pretend to be who you think I am, Mostly for your satisfaction alone, When something appears off, Though ironically I am not really who you think, You began to question if something is wrong, Something is, I’m always wrong, When I am melancholic and sad, You only become frustrated, Ignore me when I need you most, My tears no longer pierce your heart, It only makes me cry more, Returning to my secluded place, Forced to heal on my own, Whispering encouraging words, I only wish someone would share with me, Here I am again, Fake smile plastered across my face, A personality stitched together, Hoping I won’t ever make the mistake Of wearing my heart on my sleeve again, But in hope of sweeter change, I repeat this cycle again.
