When it comes to Writing

When it comes to Writing

A Poem by Kitten

When it comes to writing,
Never try to hard.
When you write,
Do not do it to make money or gain
A "worthy" impression of yourself.
No when you write,
You create a piece of literature,
Whether it be a scientific statement,
A tragic tale, a cliche love poem,
An adventurous quest, or just utter nonsense,
It doesn't matter what you write,
As long as you do your best and it comes from the heart.
Because when something you create comes from your heart,
When another person comes across your glorious scribblings,
You want something in their chest to start to stir,
The strings of their heart to be tampered with,
You want them to ponder,
And be at awe at the stroke of your pen,
Making it seem as what you have written is meant for them.

Exactly. You should always write for yourself, nothing else. I think this is why so many songs nowadays are meaningless because the singers are just thinking about how much money they'll make off the record. I loved this piece!
