Finding A Melody

Inspiration is what I hunger,

I wish it would come like a storm and thunder,

for nothing comes to me,

not a story or a dream,

or a song to sing,

show me so I may create one of these things,

to compose a piece of unforgettable art,

let there be purpose behind these words,

and when something inside you starts to stir,

I believe I have accomplished something here,

so in my mind I hold it dear,

a sweet melody of nonsense.

Good job! Once on a sleepless night I wrote a silly piece called insomnia. Sometimes a thought can be an inspiration. One day I wanted to write about 2 bubbles rising to the surface. Another day it was about 2 birds. I started putting words together and next thing the piece took off! To me that is inspiration, when the poem or story takes a life on its own and it becomes the one to tell you what to write. You become an instrument of the piece. When you force it, it wont come!
