Constellations

The beautiful night sky brings so much wonder.

The stars accompany me,

on a warm night with a cool breeze,

sky so bright,

it lights the dark Earth,

the diamonds of the heavens shine,

the beauty and awe captivates me,

the constellations whisper their tales,

and the many shades of blue is the ocean on which they sail,

the azure so close yet so distant.

What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing?

And what do we think we might see?

Someday I will find it.

The lovers, the dreamers,

and me.

This is a beautiful poem. I noted how the rhyme scheme seemed to change as I read. It seemed to tighten up in a sense, drawing focus to the end of the poem, the climax if you will. I liked the metaphors you used as well. 'accompany, diamonds, whisper, ocean' These words were well chosen and well placed. That is how poetry ought to be written. Indirect, abstract... using words that fit so beautifully. This poem is wonderfully written. Thank you for sharing.

and ask life's fundamental questions with wonder beauty and " the diamonds of the heavens shine,"
you have a powerful connection with the reader.
