Cupid & Psyche

Cupid & Psyche

A Poem by Vanessa Pavelock

In the deepest

pockets of the

woods, a twister

brews, threatening

those who dwell in-

land. Creatures flee

from carefully

chosen hiding

spots as their

panic-stricken eyes

sneak one final

glance at all

they’re leaving

behind. Still,

nestled in a

lover’s cocoon, two

caterpillars lie

perfectly aloof--

speaking

without

a sound.
