Caffeine

Caffeine

A Poem by Vanessa Pavelock

Warm droplets

spill slowly

down her

throat, colliding

with a sea of

saliva--she

holds her

dangerous

new addiction

between

spaces in

her smile,

and lifts her

neck back to

swallow

the fleeting

pleasure of

soft daggers

on scar

tissue

Beautiful poem. I like the short lines. It delivers the speech with precision. Who knew coffee could be so dangerous?
