Duende

Duende

A Poem by Vanessa Pavelock
"

A short Poem/ Definition of what Duende means to me

"

She stretches her body to extend her limbs across

space as passion circulates from her toes to her

brain-- her breath increases, her pulse races,

her eyes fill with warm, acidic tears that burn

and sizzle like a wildfire-- untamed and merciless.

From the soles of her feet she feels the tingling

sensation trickle through her fragile bones, and

up the rigid frame of her spine. Every organ of

her body abruptly shifts out of place, and she is

left with beautiful agony in her conflicted soul.

I had never heard of the term 'Duende'. Such new words push the door open a little wider. And also many thanks for the personal and revealing definition.
