What It Was

What It Was

A Poem by Vanessa Bett
"

Still can't say I think it was worth it

"

Learning to let go, to live without you

Learning to give up all my dreams of us

I'm learning to say goodbye and really mean it

Learning to move on without regret

Still, loving you a little less each day

I'm releasing your heart and letting you fly

Letting go of your image

Forgetting how you smell in the morning

Forgetting how you move and smile

I'm forgetting to remember all the things you've already forgotten

I'm learning to let go of us

More importantly, I am learning to live again.

Hopeful. Carefully, but learning to live again, is a good start. Very good write.

I really like this piece I know EXACTLY what you mean it's almost as if your telling your self and repeating the steps over again.I feel this piece many people can relate to it' captures the sadness and disappointment of letting go of someone you had faith in.the acceptance of the heartbreak and the decision to walk away good stuff
