Love at first sight: Yesterday

a poem about a student nurse falling in love with her client.

Sitting on a chair, writing by the table; while drinking my favorite tea.

Not far from school, not far from the place I first met you; yesterday…

I wonder if I’ll meet you again and if you will be set on

A trance just like how you placed me on; yesterday…

 

As I recall how I held you’re hand it makes me shiver...

Frightened on what I felt;

How my pulse rate seemed to rhyme with yours… (Beating fast)

My knees wobbled… I felt weak.

 

The room was cold as ice but I began to sweat

While I listen to your pounding heartbeat….

I couldn’t breathe and pretended not to mind.

Kept my feelings deep inside…

 

You looked up at me and I don’t know what you’re thinking.

You look at my face and I felt anemic;

I felt my face pale rather than blush…

Is this love?

 

What they say love at first sight?

Or is this infatuation?

I could no longer recall the last time I felt like this to a man…

(Or were there ever was?)

 

 

I saw your face while you try to conceal the pain…

It felt like my heart began to melt and fall into a million pieces…

I try to comfort you, but it didn’t help.

You just simply smiled in a brief moment; then again I fell in love…

 

A total snub… that’s what I thought; but I still do… (A little^_^)

 

So many questions…

                “Are you single?”

                “Do you like me?”

                “Do you think I’m cute?’

                “blah-blah--…”

But no answers…

All I know is your name:

                “_ _ _ _     _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _    _ _ _”

My patient that got me pissed,

made me laugh and fell in love

within a single shift.
