Loving Yourself

Loving Yourself

A Poem by vandana

Life’s abundant opportunities we forsake,
Discouraged, disillusioned by the challenges we face
Seek excuses that we willingly make.
We foster an ideal image of ourselves
The one we must always live up to
Forever cautious not to falter or embarrass ourselves.
Constantly judging ourselves & others,
Fools that we are, blind about our own mistakes,
We delight in cracking jokes at other’s expense.

We must help and not scorn others
and thereby add value to our lives.
If only we can accept who we are,
And start by honestly loving ourselves
that would surely be a good start.

Great piece of writing. Very short but powerful because the words and your flow are everlasting. Everyone could have this in the memory bank for when they get down or too high.

Better advice, I've never heard. You say it very well, too, vandana.
