Demon or Angel?

Demon or Angel?

A Poem by Kent Clark

Bringer of pain,

Harold of doom.

Always the same,

Always in gloom.

Yearns for joy,

Prays for love.

Begs for release,

From powers above.

What is this being we spoke on?

What is your angle?

Is this a Demon?

Or is it an Angel?

Interesting look at the pain our decisions lead us too and whether it's worth the suffering.

NOTES:
Is "Harold of doom" the "bringer of pain?" Or did you mean "Herald of doom?"

I love this piece and how it so simply captures the essence of everyone having multiple sides to them and almost never being able to determine which side of someone it is you are seeing because they could be nice for their own gain or mean because they have just been pushed to that point. I'm sure you have more meaning to your write than just that, it feels much more deep than the surface I just scratched, but I feel like sharing my thoughts on that level might be over stepping and who would want to upset such a wonderful poet? I mean to write something like this, you definitely know what you are doing and have a way with words quite unlike most. Your voice here is interesting and your style is creative. I love that the last stanza is in purple to make it stand out just a little more and wrap up the entire piece.

Always the light and dark side of life to contend with. 'what is your angle?' Good question that.
