Slave

Slave

A Poem by November_Rain

There are cuffs made of barbed wire around my wrists.
There's a weight on my chest that makes it hard to breathe.
There are bricks on rope around my ankles making it hard to take another step.
I'm trudging through mud just trying to go forward.
Something pushes me against a wall with its hands around my neck.
Screaming doesn't help, only makes it worse.
I'm a slave to my mind.
Tears run down my cheeks but nobody can see in the dark.
