Lost Wishes Are Stars

Lost Wishes Are Stars

A Poem by Vampire Heart

Lost wishes float like stars across the sky
fallen dreams and cracked mirrors
disguise the plague that little girls cry
between the faerie tale lies and glistening dreams
where life remains in-between

It is here that we find solace
when the words speak of soft consoling
hues of blues and pinks cajole the tears
from the eyes until one cannot see anymore

This is rose coloured
where life fades and the lie begins
and transcends all that is known
brigand of the heart tear apart
the soul from the start

Until there is nothing left but
cascading dirt when the rainbow dies

This is a great poem, I love the metaphor of Dreams and Stars. This is a great metaphor for life in general.

I almost didn't visit your page as your user name said to me something quite different than I found within. This piece is exceptionally well-written and complex. The permeating sense of hopeless sadness softened by pale colors and an almost whispery voice lead me to re-read it several times, catching small nuances I'd missed.

I also enjoyed the random rhyming, subtle, yet effective.

Well done.

Welcome to the cafe, I shall keep an eye out for you.

faerie instead of fairy makes a difference in bringing out the scene in the entire work. This is a good piece of work with elements that paint a wonderful landscape. A good read
