thoughts to feed the fire

thoughts to feed the fire

A Poem by valerie
"

written last october. one of my favorite poems of mine,

"

as this fire consumes me,
as these temperatures rise,
my mind wanders in your direction
i imagine your eyes.
pale perfection,
such astounding beauty
i wonder if you don’t
just see right through me.

could those glances
mean something more?
could this chance
be the one to reach for?

as the flames lick my skin,
burn those pages of regret
hope is still with me,
i'm not ready to give up yet

just for once
will luck be with me?
just for once
will the odds be in my favor?
just for once
just for once...

thoughts to feed the fire
anguish of the past
if history repeats itself
this too, will not last

i want this fairy-tale ending
this page i never wish to burn
you could call me naïve, but
i guess some people never learn.

This is completley amazing. The words meant so much to me. Idk if this was supposed to be the interpretation, but I was thinking love. Finding someone at a young age that you think you love. And that person is a page you never wish to burn

To me this piece has three emotions. It starts off hopeful, proceeds to despair, moves back to hope and ends in apathy.
