I’m so f*****g old school, I’m new school and I fall into Traps of falling in love with delusions of grandeur But I’m not little. I am the beat behind you, The small pressure at your back, I bob My head to the beat, baby. Doesn’t matter that the closest I ever get to cool is a Cosby sweater. Yesterday the world woke up small, I waited it out. I am nothing if not a Lover of anticipation. Graceless but Tactful, skip over, skip over, skip over, The painful things. There are better Memories to spin through. I gather Words and numbers close to me, Right the wrong angles, brace for Wind, and gulp down the last Pangs of guilt. I don’t walk that way Anymore, my hands haven’t been out For years. Yes, I’ve still got the jeans, The f**k-you-jackass, my mother’s Eyes but, Jesus, you’d be surprised Who doesn’t recognize me. The Double take. And at the end of the Day, when it’s just the mirror and me, I must admit that the differences are Clear. I’m so f*****g old school, I’m new school and I fall. © 2011 Val ValReviews
