My Richard Burton

My Richard Burton

A Poem by Val Val

February 2o, 2o1o / 2:51 am

I write romances
With you as my
Male lead. We
Always find each
Other in the end.
Sometimes its a
Rainy street
Sometimes a
Drum heart beat
Echoes around
A crowded dance
Floor. Enter you.
Enter me. Candles
Flicker in the
Foreground. Your
Eyes find my eyes.
The audience pauses.
Music gets more
Intense. A blink of
The lens and we
Are hip to hip,
Lip to lip. Then
Lips to ear. One
Of us says
What took
You so long?
Screen fades to black.

MRB ... interesting choice.... RB was a wonderful actor with great sex appeal.. His voice alone makes me swoon ... I bet the music wasn't the only thing that grew more intense in this poetic light flickering romantic interlude scenerio ... Well done! Scene! (loved him in Who's Afraid... VWolfe, Becket and Night of the Iguana...)

It's always rainy in those scenes, isn't it? Maybe something about the fleeting nature of lasting passion.

Love the imagery here. Made it more poignant.

Liked the format too.
