A picture is worth a
Thousand words.
They say.

(Sometimes, just sometimes, only one will do.)
And who they is
Is not relevant here.

(For the weight of that word - or words -

Overshadows the necessity of knowing the origin of its species.)

Pictures replace
Words, a world of
Abstract movie silence,
Of moving frames
And clicking projectors.

(Shhh!  Come.  Listen to that deafening silence.)
A breakfast scene's word
Total roughly equaling
War and Peace.
    (An audience awaits its climax.)

Your title caught my eye.. (A friend of mine LIVES ON JONES ST IN VENTURA)..
I like this poem very much.. Yes, A photo can be worth 1000 but your right ...
one word can say it all. Words are weighty but pictures can reach heaviosity just as well. I love the ref. to silent movies and how silence can be deafening..
The ending is a warring peaceful glow of climatic madness ...
good job you two!!

Wow, now this is an incredible write! This is perfectly laid out, and even though it's hard to experiement with things like parentheses in poetry, when you've got it, you've got it...and you do! Wonderful imagery and amazing word choice!

Listen here,
I like just about all you write
but this m'lady is the good stuff
the very good stuff
like the stuff old ladies hide under the bed and rescue in a fire
before the children or fish
( ) the use of these ( )
is perfect
