The Dreadful Blue

Pain finds expression through poetry in many ways literal and in others a metaphorical sense.

The Dreadful Blue

Field of Dandelions
I found one blue
Its head turned high
So marvelous
I plucked it
A gust of wind
Thunder crash
I scrambled toward the trees
Not seeing the ledge
Down and down I went
At last stopped
Looking up I see
A large bear
Afraid to move
Lip quivers
Heart pounding
I take steady breaths
Hot breath on my face
A loud cry and shot
It falls I run
Not seeing the tree
I fall backwards
Bee hive just above
I sneeze and stumble
Buzzing louder
Screaming I race
Back to the path
Limping I find my car
On its window sits
The blue dandelion
