Amid

by Lady Valmar

Weeping willows, I am  entranced.  Though death nears… welcome it with no fears nor regrets.  Keep me from a void. Consume my insides.  Bow my head obligingly. To defeat… it comes so easily… no stranger to me… no battles fought nor victories to amend… simple barren isles floating inside such visage that is me.  Plead on my knees, “Release from these bonds of burdens I cannot awaken from.”  Such as in a daydream but bittersweet as cocoa.  My double-edged sword is myself… I capitulate both in defeat in ecstatic fume. Amid shadows glimpse battlements of few. Defending gash wounds inside my own battlefield. Gory ambler, tear my silk and my copper shield. My cascaded cloak cannot amend these wounds.
