Deep Waters

Deep Waters

A Poem by The Valerian Legion
"

Emotion like this is a little like drowning but I'm grasping to breathe and be saved. I know of only one such person who can save me and that is God.

"
Deep Waters

By Lucy

Like the dust inside an old coffin
I swim toward the sky
Drowning is not an option
Surely there must be freedom to come?

In the corners you sweep away cobwebs
Breaking the surface I breathe air
Oxygen fills my lungs
Weeping has brought me to struggle much.

Take away these poisonous spiders
Save me from the tossing of the waves
Blood flows in me but I feel like a shell
God be my lifesaver and get me away from this.

Bring me through to see the sunshine
Put me aboard your ship and safety
Make my heart beat again like a drum
You were always there watching me.

The light is my only chance
Bandage my wounds and staunch the infection
You say you are near to the broken hearted.
Don’t let me turn away from you ever again.
