Two FeetA Poem by The Valerian LegionThe ocean and sinking ships with a little girl stranded on an island of despair.I’m staring at my own two feet. The ones that have walked through coral. I feel small like a child. All I want to do is hide in a corner in the dark. The tears I feel do not appear on my cheek. Echoes of a silent screaming inside my head. I barely know what makes this tick but I’m here. Again the battlefield bears me forward. Looking out I see the ship that bore me in. Surely my demise is close nearby. Just step a little left into the black scarlet. I sometimes wish God would just take me home. What use of me here when all I get is pain? There is a sign that tells me boldly silence. In the bleeding pool of red I am broken. Looking around this desert land, I’m parched. They live in paradise, while I live in hell. I saw my ships sink in the distance and so powerless I am. My past is a big blur leaving me gasping for air in the tide. Didn’t you know that tender words was all I needed? Now with the shovel I find my way back down to the core. Into the solitude of the black divide. I didn't buy this with gold. Sitting back in my broken planks, I see only misfortune. Desperate, I cling to the walls of my floating sinker. Please save me God, from this empty ragged land. Little girl, hollow and grave. Where are your loved ones now? Gone they have, l fetch water alone. These two feet can't find a way out. Buried deep in the ash of those before. The sky fire and onyx cast. Weak and helpless I cling to hope. Mind numbing I sleep tonight. Praying tomorrow bring the sunrise. © 2013 The Valerian LegionReviews
