NorpA Poem by The Valerian LegionWhen exposed, illusion reveals the truth of its nature and only the light can cure or fight the war.Like a slave I stood at attention. You bought me price and all. With your wicked smiles and promises. I felt like a queen on my throne. Throne of pain and sorrow I could not see. And I was adoring the collar you gave me. The prize you gave was an empty one. As I watched you progress I slipped away. I hungered as I watched, how my weak my gaze. In the hazy deluge I felt myself locked down. Your deception and illusion cost me much. And in your false hope you gave, I saw little. Though shame invaded you still remained. With daybreak I prayed for truth. And on the horizon I sought what I knew. That this cycle must end. Somehow. Someway. Take back your falsehoods and your pretenses. The cost you give is too high a price for me. For with all you claimed you take away even from my companion. Take no more of my soul, from me and from him. The light shines through me. See the glow. It is underneath the skin and it illuminates my eyes. You are exposed liar, cruel demon of mine...of the world. Tonight I dedicate this to you, demon and I give you over to the light. I am done with this fight with you. You hold no dominion over me. Because the ground I am standing on is unshakeable. This war is no longer mine. © 2013 The Valerian Legion |
